What is a charcuterie board?
A charcuterie board (or graze board) usually consists of a variety of cured meats, cheeses, fruits, and spreads presented in a beautiful way on a wooden or stone slab. (I love this one – it’s budget-friendly and functional) Charcuterie boards can be elegant (like for a formal event) or just simply fun for snacking on at home. I enjoyed making this kid-friendly board with my four year old daughter to snack on while we watched movies on the couch.
Tips for Styling your Easter Charcuterie Board
Be spontaneous. When arranging your board, remember that imperfect is perfect! Making the board too symmetrical or even will cause it to look more like a party tray from the grocery store than a charcuterie board. So resist that urge to count, make patterns, etc and just follow your whims.
Flavors: Incorporating a wide variety of snacks will make the board not only interesting to look at, but exciting to eat. I like having a range of different flavors – some savory, some salty, some sweet. Try not to limit yourself to one food group and remember that your snacks don’t have to “go together.”
Texture: Similarly to flavors, using a wide range of textures when selecting snacks for your board makes it interesting and fun.
Creative Elements: Adding creative touches is probably the most fun part of creating a charcuterie board. I loved adding the flowers and “bird’s nest” to this board. Adding 2-3 non-food items to your board can give it an artistic flair.
Remember functionality: Although charcuterie boards are pretty to look at, remember that above all they are meant to be enjoyed! So if you’re including jams on your board, remember to add a utensil for spreading. If guests will slice their own cheese, don’t forget a small knife. You can find really cute and inexpensive charcuterie utensils.

Very simple, inexpensive, & also kid-friendly!
