Nothing beats coming inside on a warm, spring day to a home that smells fresh and clean. This easy, DIY fabric freshening spray is all natural and will have your whole house smelling heavenly!
Once you see how easy it is to make your own fabric spray, you’ll probably never buy a bottle of Febreze again! (And that’s a good thing because artificial sprays are full of tons of yucky chemicals that are bad to inhale). Experimenting with different scents is addictive, but this recipe is my very favorite. It combines a fresh, inviting aroma with a hint of sweetness.
Where can I use my DIY linen spray?
I use this spray on so many things in my house! I love misting my couches, throw pillows, blankets, towels, bedding…you name it. Even the curtains get sprayed. I love how subtle and clean this scent is- it’s actually hard to overdo it!
What You’ll Need.
- Distilled water
- Rubbing alcohol
- Purification essential oil
- Jade Lemon essential oil (regular Lemon is fine but I like the added sweetness from the JL!)
- Grapefruit essential oil
- A spray bottle (preferably an amber glass bottle because essential oils are not fans of light)
How-to
- Pour 1/2 cup of rubbing alcohol in your bottle
- Add 8 drops of Purification + 8 drops of Jade Lemon + 4 drops of Grapefruit
- Swirl to combine.
- Add 1/2 cup of distilled water
- Shake before using.
That’s all! SO easy.
If you don’t have the essential oils listed, remember that so many other oils can be substituted. Lemon + lavender is another great combination. You can play around with this recipe to find the scent that suits your taste. Also note- a great substitute for the rubbing alcohol is witch hazel.
