With summer quickly approaching, nothing marks the season quite like these amazing and SUPER easy apple dumplings.
When we moved into our house in 2020, one of the things we were most excited about was the apple tree in our yard. We were so excited to pick apples and I had so many ideas for what we would do with them! Unfortunately that first year, after much watchful waiting, we accidentally let most of our apples rot! We kept waiting for these tart little green apples to grow and mature and that never happened. What we didn’t realize at the time was that we actually have June apples! Meaning these “tart little green apples” were at their peak and ready to harvest in mid-June. We have not made that mistake again and I absolutely love our little apples. For this recipe, tart apples actually work best! So if you’re blessed to find yourself wondering – “what can I do with all of these apples?” this summer – this is for you! A delightful combination of sweet and tart, gooey and crispy. Serve them with a side of vanilla bean icecream, drizzle with caramel, and it’s sure to be a favorite!
